I'm 28 and have been a professional software developer for over eight years. In that time I have worked in various industries including finance, defence, engineering and the public sector. This has given me a broad range of experience and skills which I can apply to solve most business problems where a technical solution exists.

I have over four years of intranet/web-based application development, maintenance and support using the .Net framework (C# 1.1 and 2.0) and SQL Server 2000 (ASP ,VB and Perl before that).  Although most of my work has been web-based I also windows applications when required.

I have run a managed web-hosting service for over five years which has given me excellent Windows Server (and IIS) admin skills.
 
Almost all of my projects have required some kind of database and this has given me excellent knowledge of database design and maintenance with SQL Server 2000, MS Access and mySQL. This includes creation of complex SQL queries, stored procs, triggers, UDFs, scheduled jobs etc.

I was first taught to program computers when I was 6 years old by my friend's dad. It was on a ZX Spectrum 48k with rubber keys and we were taught how to draw shapes and create basic menu systems. My knowledge was used to create games for my sister - in which she would navigate the menus to arrive at one of a set of pre-prepared insults. We get on much better now!

Programming and playing with computers has always been a hobby of mine. Up until I left university and decided to make a profession out of it.

Since then I have never stopped learning and strive to keep my knowledge as up-tp-date as possible. I currently specialise in Microsoft development technologies. Specifically C# and the .Net Framework.
